Our Leadership

Meet the amazing people leading our Association
The leadership team of NEA-Alaska is composed of dedicated educators committed to advocating for our members' rights and advancing the quality of education throughout the state.
Our leadership team is comprised of our President, Vice President, NEA Director, and our Board of Directors.

Our President

Tom Klaameyer is the president of NEA-Alaska. He has been a public educator for almost three decades, and is a fierce advocate for Alaska's students and educators.

Our NEA Director

Kathy Simpler is our representative on the NEA Board of Directors, the top decision making body of our national affiliate which includes at least one director from each state affiliate.

Our Executive Director

Zac Mannix, a lifelong Alaskan with a deep-rooted passion for education, serves as the Executive Director of NEA-Alaska, leading the organization's efforts to advocate for quality education across the state.

The NEA-Alaska Board of Directors, comprised of dedicated educators from across the state, oversees the strategic direction and policy decisions of the organization, ensuring its commitment to enhancing education in Alaska.
