Injustice, Race, & Recovery

August 10, 2021 @ 7:30 pm

The NEA Center for Social Justice (CSJ) Summer Justice Series (SJS) presents:

Date:  Tuesday, August 10, 2021

Time:  7:30 – 9:00 PM EST

Racism, whether subtle or direct, has long-term impacts on the mental and behavioral health and life of Native, Asian, Black, Latin(o/a/x), Middle Eastern and North African, Multiracial, and Pacific Islander people. New traumas as a result of COVID-19, increased racial violence, and years of systematic racism, discrimination, and micro-aggressions have forced many in the communities of Native, Black, and People of Color to live in a constant state of high alert, causing race-based traumatic stress. In this session, participants will learn from educators and practitioners working to recognize, heal and transform race-based trauma to foster thriving – and more just – schools and communities.
