Every year, as part of our support for local affiliates, NEA-Alaska hosts a Bargaining Training.

This annual bargaining training will be happening in person at the NEA-Alaska Office, in Anchorage, on October 25th and October 26th.

Bargaining is one of the most powerful tools we have to enhance educational excellence and ensure educational employees have a voice in their professional lives. This training is offered to help you and your local improve pay, benefits, and working conditions for our members.

I am happy to invite your bargaining team to attend this year's NEA-Alaska Bargaining Training.

This training will include:

  • Bargaining and the Law
  • Preparing to Bargain
  • Power and Organizing
  • At the Table: Advocacy Skills
  • School Finance and Research

NEA-Alaska will cover the costs for up to four members from each local to attend this training. Most bargaining teams are appointed by the local president, but your constitution and bylaws may have guidance for assembling a team. Keep in mind the different grade levels, departments, job titles, communities, etc. your association represents as you look for bargaining team members.
